save as .jpeg option is missing in mspaint here is the solution : fixed

Are you unable to save as .jpg or .jpeg with mspaint (Microsoft paint)? missing .jpg extension in mspaint? recently i downloaded a picture which was in .bmp format but when i opened it in paint and tried to save as .jpg i found that .jpg extension was missing.....

i was confused about what the f*c* happened to my system and after Googling i came across solutions on many sites but none of them worked and at last i landed up in Microsoft kb site where i got the detailed procedure how to fix it.... this happens when you install the latest service pack or updates recent have been applied below are the procedure on how to fix it.

• click start run and then type "Regedit"
• Traverse the tree and find the below path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters\Export\Jpeg
• Click on jpeg and edit "Name" type: "JPEG File Interchange Format" in the value data
• Click on jpeg and edit "Extensions" type: "jpg" in the value data
• come out of the registry editor below shows the picture of how to edit the registry
