Bangalore traffic department has installed traffic red light cameras near Deve Gowda Petrol Bunk (Padmanabhanagar), C V Raman Road , J P Nagar, Kamaraj Road junction and Hennur Road? recently i was coming from my cousins house on sunday night though the red light was lit there was no one so few of us ignored the red light and passed the signal two bright flashes flashed from behind at that moment i realized that i will get a ticket from traffic police shortly for signal jumping as it was captured on the camera :( have to wait and see whether my number plate was
visible for camera at that time or not until next week i hope hope not to :)
it is said that the camera has caught more than 8000 traffic violators near kamraj junction in first eight days of trial and most of the cases was either over speeding or signal jump and from some sites i came to know that the fine for over speeding is 300rs and for signal jump is 100rs and if the person has exceeded the norms that is 10 times defaulter the fine may be upto 3000rs and the fine should be payed within 7 days from issue of ticket in case he fails to pay case would be put up in the court where the violator will have to appear in person to pay penalty.
though they are various suggestion on the web about how to escape from the spying eyes of traffic camera such as changing the font of the number plate, Spraying photoblocker a reflective coating which reflect light back from the plate making it difficult to read i dont know how effective it is now with modern high definition cameras so it is better not to break the rule!!!
