How to Find your Stolen or Lost Laptops for free a small hope

How to track your stolen laptop or iPhone? did you know there is a free software called adeona which is about 2MB will show the location of your computer... the Adeona is a open source and the tracking information does not rely on any third party or any central service so it guarantees privacy..

How does it works? Adeona is designed to use the Open Source Open DHT distributed storage service to store location updates sent by a small software client installed on an owner's laptop. The client continually monitors the current location of the laptop, gathering information (such as IP addresses and local network topology) that can be used to identify its current location. The client then uses strong cryptographic mechanisms to not only encrypt the location data, but also ensure that the ciphertexts stored within OpenDHT are anonymous and unlinkable. At the same time, it is easy for an owner to retrieve location information.....

though this only works if the person stolen connects to internet and it is also possible that the person who stole it may disable the adeona and if the computer is formatted this wont work but as always something is better than nothing
