Early 70's to mid 90's was the time where buying a Television without antenna was unthinkable and almost all the indian homes were decorated with these antennas on their roof as if it was a crown to the home....
things started changing in MID 90's when cable TV started to spread like a wildfire "START TV" as people called was another name for cable tv in mid 90's because only star and Zee was the only channels broadcast ed through cables and slowly indian and other international channels started and joined the chart..
But in present day scenario i bet no one will think of antenna while buying the TV its that obsolete and you can hardly see it on 10-20% of homes today even in villages and rural area people started using DTH services which are making Conventional terrestrial antenna museum piece....
Who know a day may come that our younger generation can see these antennas only in the museum i am planning to safe my antenna in store room as a souvenir of my childhood days ;)
