back up Email, contacts, calendar, profiles in Thunderbird ? and restore them later

Are you using Thunderbird as your email client ? want to backup your account settings, addons, themes, calendar appointments, contacts emails etc because you are buying a new computer or you need to format your computer due to virus infection? then don't worry you can do all that with few mouse clicks don't believe it? believe it!!!

there are two ways to backup your data one using a backup tool called MozBackup which is free and other is manually but both are easy though below are the steps

Using Mozbackup
download the Mozbackup tool from here install it and launch the application and application wizard will guide you through the process any one with basic computer knoweldge even your dad, mom, aunty and grandfather can use this tool

Manually back up
First of all Manually backing up your email client state is very easy just copy the respective profile folder anywhere such as pen drive, cd or any other drive of computer you can find the profile folder in the below path

if you are using windows 2000,xp you can find profile dirctory in below path

C:\Documents and Settings\{your name|Computer name}\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles

if your operating system is Vista or higher

C:\Users\{your name|Computer name }\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

if Linux

/home/{your name|Computer name }/.thunderbird/Profiles

if OSX

~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles

and next time when you install the Thunderbird on new computer or in the same computer after format just copy and paste the profile folder in same path that's it now your Thunderbird will be as it was before containing all the emails, contacts and account settings its that simple.
