LOOKS:
Swift = Sporty looks , interiors cramped , Not much care given in the plastics and mergers in the borders
Indica Vista = Looks like a well refinded indica. Carries lot of authenticity in the design exteriors and interiors. Striking change in the interios include a central console.High quality plastics ,innovative intrument cluster, Mp3 with USB integrated. top lamp is substandard.
DRIVE:
Swift : A drivers car. Smooth gear shift , Better steering grips ( its polyurethane). lacks adjustment in steering wheel.Seat heigh adjustment not possible.Rear is cramped and practically no utility space.The boot is scanty . Overall ride is bumpy on unpaved road( took a deliberate ride to check suspension)and very hard suspension-not expected in this luxury hatchback.
Indica vista quadrihjet- Very comfortable wavy ride in unpaved road ( like a luxury car ! - really unbelievable -needs to be seen to be beleived as it demonstrates it is NOT the OLD indica) .Stering wheel bulky and larger radius althoguh power of steering is good. Gear shift tigter than swift. Excellent visibility even on the rear becaus e of redesigned external mirrrors.
Intrument cluster allows easy visibily. Aura comes fully loaded except Airbags & ABS.
MILEAGE:
SwiftDDSI = 20km/ltr
Indica vista qadrijet ( euro IV)= 25 km /ltr
COMMENTS:
Overall Indica offers better value for money and comfort . Swift has a better resale value .

Definitely if you go buy quality then swift is the best. It has sporty look. So you have a money and you want to have sporty car then go for Swift.
Advantages of Indica are like... it has huge space inside. Comparable build quality, better suspension than swift and good ride quality. In terms of drivability Vista quadrajet scores some more points due to it's tuning to city driving. On the other hand swift has best gear shifts but good gear ratios, but not as Vista. Swift's interior is cramped, and Vista is very spacious and airy. Swift has appealing look. Vista also looks good.
I would suggest Vista if you want to save money and same time you are buying spacious good looking car. Reliability would be same for Vista and Swift.
Buy Swift only if you are passionate about it's look and you have money.

I am confused but I have seen Vista & Swift both. Look wise Swift is Sporty & Vista is tough & Old Indica type. If you have money to buy sporty looks type car then Swift is OK. But other then sporty look swift cannot be as tough as Vista. I will probably go for Vista......
I went to check both these(Vista & Swift) cars personally, like everyone mentioned i was shocked to see the transformation from Indica to Indica Vista...
First, The looks are very good and the interiors looks amazing... Its so Spacious compared to any car in this segment.
The front view is equivalent to any Sedan cars.
Mileage,Looks,Space,driveability, ground clearance,etc is excellent. Diesel engine is better for long driving.
Good Fiat Palio gearbox to support which makes it altogether a better car, Just go for it...

1. The steering is hard compared to Maruti cars
2. The seats are not so comfortable

You all guys are talking like bulldung, A guy tells suspension of swift is very good, but it is bulldung Swift suspension works fine only when it goes beyond 130 kmph.
You have good suspension in VISTA but it gets worst when you drive beyond 135 kmph while it is not in same in swift. but speed less than that even palio can't beat Vista's Suspension and ride quality.
And i prefer being a Indian you must prefer to buy Indian car. As Tata car's is always suitable for Indian Roads. Because the car in india going beyond 140 is like nightmare
Being accident victim I will suggest that tata cars are far better than Maruti's (Good iron work) Who fool can drive at 140 Km! not even for 30 seconds you can drive even on chandigarh delhi highway. you cannot hold more than 110Km for good thirty to forty seconds . All of us know about indian roads bumps animals what you can expect more is from rickshaw wala which donot indicate but turn more quickly than the world's finest sedans.Its foolish to talk about possesing posh ferr. or Maserati.
Style is of course a personal view.There are many who hate the anuran look of Swift.What is perceived sporty may be yucky by another thought. Maruti has the best service network and an excellent goodwill in passenger cars for decades, where Tata is comparatively new entry.But they've come out with loads of improvement and Indica Vista is a proof of that.For Petrol Swift is better but for Diesel, go for Vista Quadrajet ( no Tdi )

Vista Has equivalent engine better gear smothness than swift. more feature like tilt stearing hight adjustment rear fogger 40k cheaper(comparing VDi non abs).
Swift best is Interior finishing is much better than Vista.
40k expending only extra for finishing is not going down the throat easily....
if it is spended that much on vista will give u much better than Swift....18k for aloy wheel 18k for sound proofing.... still 4k left with you....which will give better results than swift.
For ABS lover...sorry to say...EBS+ABS it is useless go to Wikipedia for seeing details...only 2 airbags are not good unless given around passenger means side ways.....see effectiveness see the google search.

Saffire is no doubt a very good Italian engine with excellently smooth drive and fine milage but that is 1-2 km less than Ritz.But all is compensated by the huge space inside and big price advantage. TDI is a very proven Tata's own engine but you gotta get noise and vibration for the far lesser price than Quadrajet or DDIS engines.
hi recently i had test drive of both the cars vista as well as swift & swiftdzire, i feel its better to buy vista instead of swift or swift dzire, vista quadrajet(fully loaded) cost u about 5,40000.00 which is VFM, if u want to go for swift u need to pay extra 40 k .
My suggestion about swift is after spending that much money atleast there should be some comfort if it is not there then wht is the use of it. back seat space is ver less(as in maruthi)only front seats are comfortable.
Where as in vista there is lot enough space.moreover waiting period for swift is around 2 months, i decide to book vista.

those who love sporty driving, go for swift DDIS.,BUT VISTA QUADRAJET is best suited for a family..i own a vista aura quad..and my broter own swift VDi.The basic difference in driving is that, after 60 kmph, swift is much better in attaining high speeds..but for city driving, vista is better as its torque and speed range is higher in 2nt and 3rd gear
I just bought Aura Safire and i'm already in love with this car. It's value for money because it comes with huge real estate and features for lesser money. It may not be as sporty as others in the same or slightly higer class but it surely is the most comfortable car in it's segment. Both Interior & Exterior are good. It gives you a feel of driving a bigger sedan from inside. You may buy a swift if you mostly drive alone however if you are buying it for your family then buy Vista.
after a long search and comparisons am decided to buy Vista Aura, bcoz its stylish interiors and smart look and performance, may be the performance of swift is better ,but its interior is very poor, and small leg space for back seats. So comparatively VISTA will be the best and economical, its cost upto 1 lakh lesser than swift

1. Price of indica vista top end aura costs 5.5 lakhs on road. But price of swift LDI costs you 5.54 lakhs. What indica vista aura has on top of swift LDI is power windows + stero + 4 speakers + rear wiper + body colored mirror and door handles + 60:40 rear seat folding
2. Sit in the back seat of indica vista when someone is driving. After that sit in the swift back seat. You will definitely reject Swift.
3. Initial pickup of quadrajet engine is superb compared to any of its segments. You don't feel like you are driving a diesel engine car. Palio swift even puto lacks at this point of pickup.
4. Beware and dont go for vista TDI engine, its tata's engine and its initial pickup is very less. Its good for highway driving. Also the engine noise is high compared to quadrajet.
5. Parts of indica vista are cheap compared to swift and mileage of indica vista is 2 KM more than swift.

Other than that in comfort, inner leg space, driving, mileage, and safety vista is the best, 5 ppl weighing near 80kgs can sit in vista without touching each other this is not possible in SWIFT.. after sales in service also TATA is doing very good job. clear win is for VISTA

It is better to go for Tata VISTA. Where as for Maruti they only claim that the after sales service.(it probably has more problems,, hence frequent visit for servie??) there is nothing great about it. Morover diesel engihe used in both the cars are from thrid party. There is no question of innovation from maruti.

i have a swift VDI (purchase date 15 Dec 2010), i am getting lots of issue in this car....
1) mileage 10-11 In City, and 15 on High way
2) to much maintenance (i was using Maruti 800, which maintenance cost was nill, based on that i purchase maruti suzuki swift VDI.) but its maintenance cost is too much....even more then i10 (my brother has i10)
3) third class build quality and no advance feature. tooo costly as compare to other
now, maruti is only running on goodwill, even ritz and estilo is not good.

comparing vista quad aura ABS and swift vdi ABS driveability is same for both the cars and mileage is same..22kmpl. but taking into consideration of additional features vista has bluetooth enabled music system with 440w speakers, Tilt steering wheel, rear glass defogger, and interior quality of plastics is better and with all these qualities it comes 60000 cheaper then swift.. safety on collision is great in vista. its value for money car with a proud Indian tag. just go with vista frnzzzzzzzzz........

Same confussions have been with me for a months time & finally felt Indiaca Vista is good, with comfortable rear space & Fiat Engine 90 s & Fiat gear box of 2007 model awarded engine, where as swift with 2004 model engine & suzuki gear box.
Also recommending Vista for the following reasons, front seat height & back adjustments, rear seat with 60:40 partitions & good rear space with bluetooth USB inbuilt audio system & ABS.

Why are the people so confused,both the cars share the same engine and gear box from fiat so the performance would be almost same. And if there is a slight increase in the performance of swift then it is due to its light kerb weight. And indica being more spacious and tougher would be relaible in the long run. And commenting about the sporty look,if a car doesn't have a powerful or high rev engine then why looks.
I have bought a Vista Aura recently it is very comfortable also when u compare with swift , Vista is very spacious , interior is attractive than Swift, even cost effective and additional features for lesser price than swift. I have purchased Vista Quadrajet Terra (Least Investment) and I have done 3800 kms upto now. I am travelling 110 kms to and fro office a day and my travel is almostly thru NH. When I checked mileage(Full Tsnk to Full tank) twice, I got 24.5 and 23.7. This is without A/C and a steady speed of 60-70 in NH. I am very much satisfied with the car upto now. Following are the key points influenced me for finalizing vista from swift
1. Waiting Period
swift : 6-8 months
Vista : 2 weeks max
2. Body Weight
Vista weighs 100 Kgs more than swift. I believe this measure a saftey advantage for Vista in case of any collision, if happens.
3. Interior
Swift : Cheap plastics
Vista : Now comes only as Refresh model, which is far better.
4. Space
Swift : 3 people can tightly fit in back seat with cramped leg space
Vista : 4 people can sit relaxed with lavish leg space.
5. Driving Comfort
Swift : I think here swift scores more with good instant pickup.
Vista : Not bad, but Swift scores more
6. Gear Shift

Swift: Good service backup. They will follup up you and will get serviced.
Vista: If you want service, you must go and get it done. (Even the delivery people didnt told me about extended warranty yet. I heard from my friend and asked them for that.)
10. Cost
Vista base model is atleast 30-40 K less than Swift. New swift model price hearing will be 18 K addition to old swift model.

Perfectionists dont go for Vista, else, Vista is the best. Moreover, TATA is an indian product, what is the problem in using an Indian product which is good and cheap. Moreover, we can use an indian product and be a proud indian.

indica has poor suspension it get dis mental in 2-3 years and maintenance cost is too much as comared to swift and after sale is too poor in indica . after 3-5 year engine sound in indica is like a tractor but in swift its silent through out life
no sir, my friend has done 100000 km with his 2009 model of indica vista quadrajet aura. no problem with engine sound and body. indica is still running like new. go for indica vista. be an indian
Indica Vista is a great car...it gives the essence of Sedan,comfortable and is economical too!!
tata indica vista quadrajet is better than swift,vw polo,hyundai i10,and any other hatchbacks around 5 lacs price.
we have to accept now that maruti is not as better like before... i buy tata again.. vista vx sedan class with quadrajet engine.. before buying car just take a test drive.... u got more reasons to buy an tata care.... very good suspension....
why tata indica is in taxi?? cause it is economical and have good engine life...

indica vista comes with 2 years or 75000 km warranty... extended warranty is 4 years or 150000 km... i think Rs. 5100/- for extended warranty of 150000 km is very very big thing in itself...
if maruti is good and better then indica then why not give same warranty with same engine??
tata is reliable then maruti.... and soon become number 1 in small cars segments too..

Friends, I have purchased the new Tata Indica eV2 LS model. Vista has German engine and Indica and Indigo have the engines made by Tata. Indica (CR4 Quadrajet engine) as well as Indica Vista, both are much better than Swift. Won't say that Swift is a bad car, but it's external looks are like old (mendak type) car. Moreover, people sitting inside a Swift are like packed. While driving Indica eV2 or Indica Vista is really confortable. Make your own decision........
